For a dating site that capitalizes on its complicated scientific personality testing, the options in the search bar are actually quite simple. The criteria are the basic ones: ethnicity, religion, shape, drinking habits, etc.

As expected, the age preference starts at 40 years old (and ends at 90). Free members can receive but not read messages. When you open your inbox, you'll find a blurred preview of the overall message with an invitation to subscribe to premium.

During the test, it was discovered that free members can send one initial message to matches, but their replies will be blurred. Sending a message to your match gives them access to your photos by default. You can undo this action on the right of the messaging page.

In mid-2022, Singles50 released a video call feature for premium members to use. Only successful matches can engage in a video call – this is to assure safety and ensure compatibility before meeting up for a physical date. This feature is done inside the app and is not monitored by Singles50 moderators.

There are a few prerequisites for your display photo: your face must be clearly visible in the photo, there must be no one else with you in the photo, and there should not be children, violence, weapons, and sexual content. There is a checkmark you can opt to tick that makes your profile photo appear blurred to other users (but you can release it to individuals that you choose) – we do, however, discourage keeping this ticked. After all, your main reason for joining is to show yourself to as many people as possible.

When you visit someone else's profile, you will see your compatibility with them in terms of:

• Rationality vs. Emotionality
• Tradition vs. Innovation
• Distance vs. Attachment
• Observation vs. Feeling

These ratings were taken from your personality test at the point of registration. When you click on each characteristic, you'll see a brief summary of what it means and your overall compatibility. You also get a general rating of your similarities from 1–100 (100 being the highest). Even with the extensive personality test, profiles don't show much detail. This is probably because the site uses the information from the personality test to gauge compatibility among members rather than information to display on their profiles.

There are not many fake profiles signed up in Singles50. Since most contacting features can only be used by premium members, most profiles in Singles50 are genuine in finding love. Plus, reported scammer profiles are also quickly suspended by site moderators.
