Signing up with FilipinoCupid requires you to fill out the fields for your first name, gender, age, email address, and password. After this, you are immediately taken to a dashboard where a pop-up window asking you to upload your profile photo will appear. Some information is not mandatory, but it is always best to have a complete profile for a more enhanced dating experience.

You can choose to upload a photo later and exit this window by clicking the X button on the upper right-hand side. Another pop-up would appear after your next click on the website.

This window includes fields asking you to write a profile heading, a paragraph about yourself, and a write-up of what you are looking for in a partner. Similar to the photo upload pop-up, you can opt to skip this by clicking the X button.

When you hover over a profile photo in the member search, five mini icons appear at the bottom—view profile, message user, send a heart, add to favorites list, and instant chat. Viewing the profile, sending a heart, and adding to your favorites list are features that are free for all users.

Users without a membership can only send messages to members with a paid membership. You can identify members with a paid membership by the green checkmark icon next to their profile name. FilipinoCupid makes its users feel safe by providing the "Block User" and "Report Abuse" buttons on every chatbox and user profile (located at the left sidebar of one's profile).

FilipinoCupid has advanced search filters available. The extent of search-filter detail depends on your membership. But even with a free plan, the search filters still do wonders. Users can search by customizing the personal basic information and cupid tags, tweaking the matching preferences, or browsing the different categories of popular topic searches.

The popular topics that can be found on the left sidebar are My Matches, Most Popular Users, Profiles with the Latest Photo Uploads, Users Around Your Area, and New Members. Members can also browse the Filipina Bikini photo gallery and Glamorous Filipinas photo gallery, where Filipino women submit their photo entries.

Profiles in FilipinoCupid indicate a good amount of information, considering that all the fields have been filled out, including the “About me” optional questions as well as the “Person I am looking for” questions.

User profiles feature the profile photo on the left, and on the right is a quick view of relevant personal information, such as education, children, religion, and occupation. There is also an indicator—a green circle—if you match that user’s preferences. If it’s not a match, a red "X" would be seen. Right below this sits the user’s photo gallery.

More details can be found at the bottom part of the user’s profile. This information lies right below the member overview section, which displays the user’s own written paragraph.

Information regarding appearance, lifestyle, background & cultural values, and hobbies & interests are shown together with an indicator (similar to the quick view section) if you both match each other’s criteria. At the bottommost part of the profile is the personally written paragraph of that user about the person he or she is seeking.

There are several reports of fake profiles on the site despite its efforts to filter them out. However, FilipinoCupid continues to check for suspicious activities to create a safe and enhanced dating experience for its members.
